AR workout sneaker project - AFOUR x Kristina Krashchenko
Technology does not stand still, and it is very important not to forget to look into the future. These are not empty words for our company, so every year we look decades ahead together with students of the Department of Industrial Design of Stieglitz AcademyTechnology does not stand still, and it is very important not to forget to look into the future. These are not empty words for our company, so every year we look decades ahead together with students of the Department of Industrial Design of Stieglitz Academy
This year was no exception and together with Kristina Krashchenko we realized the project of sneakers for AR training.
Christina's task was ambitious, it was necessary to anticipate the needs of athletes of the future, to study the trends and vectors of development of running and technologies that can make the athlete's experience better and more comfortable.
In the end, the project focused on the new possibilities of AR technologies and microelectronics. Thanks to an extensive set of sensors (pressure sensors in the insole to determine running technique, temperature and humidity sensor, cord tension sensor in the lacing system to understand the condition of the feet), the athlete and his coach can fully monitor foot performance during a running workout and quickly adjust its conditions and the running technique itself.
The data will be displayed on the goggles screen, promptly notifying of the need for adjustments. Also such a system will allow to add game scenarios, similar to computer games, which will make daily training more diverse.
In our opinion, this will be useful for beginners and professional athletes, as well as their coaches, who will be able to advise them live, while being in any place where there is Internet.
Our team provided technical advice and helped build a prototype that was demonstrated during the defense.
Here's what we got.
